Is there mobile network coverage in the Everest region?

Mobile network coverage is limited in the Everest region, with most networks available only in major towns and cities. In rural areas, including much of the trekking route, network coverage is sporadic or non-existent. It’s recommended to purchase a local SIM card in Kathmandu or at a major town before the trek, or to use a satellite phone in case of emergency.
