Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be greeted by our team and transferred to your hotel in the heart of the city. After checking in and resting, you can take some time to explore Kathmandu’s vibrant streets. The day is reserved for relaxation and getting acquainted with the local culture. Kathmandu is a beautiful blend of ancient and modern, with its temples, bustling markets, and historical landmarks like Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) and Durbar Square. Upon arrival in Lukla, you will meet your guide and porter, and the trek begins. The first day of the trek is relatively short, taking around 3-4 hours to reach Phakding. The trail is scenic, following the Dudh Koshi River, passing through forests of rhododendron, pine, and fir. Along the way, you’ll cross several suspension bridges, providing glimpses of the soaring mountains in the distance.
