Nepal Visa Information
Unless you are Indian, you need a visa to travel to Nepal. Citizens from most of the countries are eligible for an on-arrival visa at Tribhuvan International Airport or immigration checkpoints along Nepal borders. Nepal is connected with two countries . So, you can get a visa through the following Immigration Posts:

- Nepalgunj, Bake
- Mohana, Kailali
- Gaddachwoki, Mahendranagar

Furthermore, you can also get a visa at your nearest Nepal Embassy or Diplomatic mission. In order to obtain a visa, you must pay the fees in cash with one of the following currencies:

Credit or Debit Card, Indian Currency , Nepali Currency are not accepted as a form of payment for the visa fee.
There are mainly three ways to get into Nepal
- Visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport.
- Visa on arrival at the border if you are entering Via India or Tibet.
- Applying online at Nepal’s Foreign Consulates.
Tourist Visa Fee
Multiple entry 15 days US $ 30 or equivalent to foreign currency
Multiple entry 30 days US $ 50 or equivalent to foreign currency
Multiple entry 90 days US $ 125 or equivalent to foreign currency
Visa for SAARC Countries
- Free visa for 30 days available for tourists of SAARC Countries ( Except Afghanistan)
- Visa for Indian Nationality.
Indian nationalities do not need a visa to enter Nepal but to get to Nepal by air or land, they must show their passport or identity card issued by the Indian government to children under 10 , and do not have to show identification.
Tourist Visa Extensions
The Visa Extension fee for 15 days or less is US $30 or equivalent to foreign currency and visa extension. More than 15 days in US $2 Per day. You can extend your visa for a maximum period of 150 days in a single visa year ( January – December ).
Requirements for Nepal Visa Approvals
To ensure a quick approval process while applying for a Nepal Tourist Visa , a number of documents and requirements must be satisfied.
The essential paperwork and items are as follows:
- Completed Visa Application Form: Fill out the visa application form online through the Nepal Department of Immigration website. Print a copy of the completed form to submit at the immigration counter upon arrival.
- Valid Passport: Your passport must be valid for at least six more months from your date of entry into Nepal and should have a minimum of one blank visa page available for stamping.
- Recent Passport-Sized Photos: Two recent passport-sized photographs are required. These should be clear and in standard passport size (usually 2″ x 2″).
- Payment of Nepal Visa Fee: Visa fees vary depending on the duration of your stay:
15 days: USD 30
30 days: USD 50
90 days: USD 125
Payment should be made in cash (USD or other major currencies) at the immigration counter.
- Proof of Travel Itinerary: A copy of your travel itinerary, which includes details of your entry and exit from Nepal, accommodation reservations, and any pre-booked activities or tours.
- Proof of Sufficient Funds: Some immigration officers may ask for proof of sufficient funds to cover your stay in Nepal, such as bank statements or credit card copies.
- Return or Onward Ticket: While not always mandatory, it’s advisable to carry a copy of your return or onward travel ticket to demonstrate your intent to leave Nepal after your visit.
- Vaccination Certificate or Negative PCR Test: In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, travelers may be required to provide a vaccination certificate indicating full vaccination or a negative PCR test result conducted within 72 hours prior to departure if unvaccinated.
- Additional Documents: Depending on your nationality or specific travel circumstances, additional documents may be required (such as a letter of invitation, proof of accommodation, or documents related to travel purpose).
- Visa Extension Documents (If Applicable): For those planning to extend their stay, additional documents like the original passport, recent photographs, and a filled visa extension form will be necessary. Extensions can be processed at the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu or Pokhara.
